The event is free to the public and funded entirely by donation.
Monday , August 8th at The Waypost
3120 N Williams Ave, Portland, OR 97227
6:30-8:30 PM
Dr. McPherson is an award-winning Professor Emeritus of Natural Resources & Ecology, and Evolutionary Biology at University of Arizona. He is internationally known for his synthesis of research on human habitat loss from abrupt climate change, as fueled by irreversible, self reinforcing feedback loops in the climate system, initially triggered by human CO2 emissions.
Dr. McPherson has written a dozen books and hundreds of articles on the environment during his 20 year academic career, including his recent joint effort with psychologist Carolyn Baker “Extinction Dialogs: How to live with death in mind” a guide to navigating existential anxiety caused by facing the effects of abrupt climate change.
